JK's Dancing Lena

Since I am so bad at updating the blog here is some updated info on our yearling we had last spring out of DT Shine Fiona and Boonwhite Dancer.  Joey as we all know him is a red roan stallion that we just can not wait to get in the show pen.  He has the conformation to go any direction we want him to!!  He will start in training with Shaun Tree after being broke by us next winter.  We are hoping he will excel in cutting, but if not we will start him on barrels and head him in the futurity direction in each discipline.

Updates on Parker!!

Parker is doing amazing in barrels and is now a money earning barrel horse!!  We have been racing heavily and placing in the 2000$ rider division consistently.  I am so excited to see were the year will take us.  We have many races that we are planning on going to and are aiming for the saddle at the end of the year.  Here are some of the updated pictures from our races.

The show season is well under way!!

Today we had the first show of the season at the Rose Ranch Jump Start show.  Vivian and Katy took Cowboy and Pumpkin and showed in the open hunter/jumper classes.  It was such a nice relaxed atmosphere that was perfect to start the show year. Katy showed cowboy in the 2'0, 2'3, 2'6 classes and was a superstar!!!! She came out with a fifth in the 2'9 class. Cowboy is such a great horse for people to learn the ropes on for showing and Katy really has excelled this past winter riding him!! Its so fun to see them make so much progress.
Vivian showed Pumpkin in the 2'3,2'6 and 2'9 and also cowboy in the 2'9.  Viv tries so hard to be perfect and nerves got in our way in her first class, but made steady improvement and ended on such a good note!!! She is such a dedicated rider and gives riding her all!!!! I couldn't ask for a better student to be able to teach and help me in the barn! Vivian has trained pumpkin from the ground up and I am so excited to see how this year will go with them showing in the pony jumpers, who knows maybe she will do the child/adult jumpers :)  Viv came home with a 4th in the 2'6, and a 3rd on pumpkin and a 4th on cowboy in the 2'9.
We have a very exciting year coming up and can't wait to see how they both continue to make progress on their horses!!!

FOR SALE-COLBY

Colby is a fantastic youth or small adult horse.  He is a been there done that gelding.  Colby was trained in reining and has fantastic extensions, collections, roll backs, lead changes, and slidding stops.  He also is patterened for barrels and rates fantastic.  Has the potential to be a good 2D horse.  Colby loves to work and never acts sour towards anything I ask him.. We have had Colby in training for the past 4 months and I hate to see him go, but he will make some one very happy.  He needs to go to a home that will ride him consistantly and do 4h or youth/high school rodeos on.  He trailers, ties, clips, stands for farrier, etc.  I have yet to find a vice in him.  Call or text with any questions
SOLD TO GENTRY MORGAN UTAH!!!

Legacy Jackpot!

This past Sunday was the Legacy Jackpot.  We took both Parker and Cisco to run in the timed only race.  In barrels there is a section for new horses that is a timed only so you can just go get your horses comfortable in the arena and around the pattern without paying the money to run in the Jackpot.  Cisco was alittle on the wild side so I just worked him really hard and got him used to sitting next the to chutes and arena while horses are running.  I probably overfaced him alittle bit, as he just got off the trailer from being shipped home from Shaun's at 9:00 the night before and then putting him on another trailer the next morning to a new place.  With that all being said he handled it like a two year old should.  Parker was a champ!!! Our first timed only we went in a cantered to the barrel stopped and trotted around it and then cantered off.  Our last timed run I let him canter the whole pattern.  I could feel him hungry for more and wanting to run faster.  We couldnt have been more proud of him and know we finally found a job he really loves!! We are running in our first jackpot this Saturday, its the UBRA winter series last run.  We are excited to start the spring series and see how we run against all the other horses.
