FOR SALE-COLBY
Colby is a fantastic youth or small adult horse. He is a been there done that gelding. Colby was trained in reining and has fantastic extensions, collections, roll backs, lead changes, and slidding stops. He also is patterened for barrels and rates fantastic. Has the potential to be a good 2D horse. Colby loves to work and never acts sour towards anything I ask him.. We have had Colby in training for the past 4 months and I hate to see him go, but he will make some one very happy. He needs to go to a home that will ride him consistantly and do 4h or youth/high school rodeos on. He trailers, ties, clips, stands for farrier, etc. I have yet to find a vice in him. Call or text with any questions
SOLD TO GENTRY MORGAN UTAH!!!

Legacy Jackpot!
This past Sunday was the Legacy Jackpot. We took both Parker and Cisco to run in the timed only race. In barrels there is a section for new horses that is a timed only so you can just go get your horses comfortable in the arena and around the pattern without paying the money to run in the Jackpot. Cisco was alittle on the wild side so I just worked him really hard and got him used to sitting next the to chutes and arena while horses are running. I probably overfaced him alittle bit, as he just got off the trailer from being shipped home from Shaun's at 9:00 the night before and then putting him on another trailer the next morning to a new place. With that all being said he handled it like a two year old should. Parker was a champ!!! Our first timed only we went in a cantered to the barrel stopped and trotted around it and then cantered off. Our last timed run I let him canter the whole pattern. I could feel him hungry for more and wanting to run faster. We couldnt have been more proud of him and know we finally found a job he really loves!! We are running in our first jackpot this Saturday, its the UBRA winter series last run. We are excited to start the spring series and see how we run against all the other horses.

Parker our new barrel horse
Most of you all know about Parker. We were really hoping he would be my next big jumper, but he just doesnt seem to love it. So we put the western saddle back on him and he is relaxed and loves to run. We here at JK Farms dont believe in forcing a horse to do something just because he shows talent or is bred to do that. We think every horse needs to love to do their job or they will fight you every step of the way. I havent ever seen parker since the day he was born as calm as he is now and he takes the bridle good and stands while we work with him. We will keep you updated of him. He is going to be running in his first jackpot in February.
Our new cutting horse Dak
We are leasing Dak from Fred Lowry for the show season. Dak is a very well known horse in the cutting world and has won everything there is to win. We are really excited to see how this show season goes and how Kelsey and Dak do together. So far they have bonded and work really well together. Dak is a Peptoboonsmal baby and shows all of his natural cow instincts that got Peptoboonsmal to the top. We are so appreciative of Fred and Shaun for all they do to help us and our horses get to the top!!!

Two disciplines coming together.
Being so involved in both cutting and jumpers I often hear one talking bad about the other. Saying things like western riders are weird and put crazy colors and tack on their horses and english riders are all snobby. But really we need to all come together. We use all the same training and ride our horses alot alike. Yes, western horses are considered ponies in the jumper world and jumpers are to leggy to ever try a western sport. But we really use all the same starting for our horses and in the same ways are alike. Its amazing to have horses that are so well trained, so whatever our discipline is we need to make sure our horses have solid back ground training.

Great day for sale horses!
Yesterday we had some prospect buyer come and look at Cisco. For being a chilly morning and not being ridden the day before, Cisco was a super star 2 year old. I Couldnt have been happier with his performance. He tried so hard to do everything they asked, even though they didnt have spurs on. He isnt used to being ridden with out spurs and was alittle confused at first, but he caught on and did his best. He is going to make a great horse for some one. He has the best personality; while we were talking he stood their and went from person to person to get a love. I am sad to have to see him go, but its part of the business and he is going to make a great aspect to someones show barn!!
